Pupils of Killicomaine Junior High School meet George Best
George was still playing for Man Utd when some of the pupils of the school had the opportunity of meeting him.
This is the nucleus of the 1981/82 team that WON the McQueen Cup and Thompson Cup of that year.
They met George at Prentice "the Motor People" Showrooms.

On 19th October 1967 George Best unfurled the Manchester Utd Portadown Branch bannerette in the Ulster Arms in Edenderry. It was owned then by Louis Holmes & today known as Gary''s bar. The bannerette was used in the Cookstown Sausage Advert that appeared on UTV & done by George & family. In the photo is Jean Gillespie,E Atkinson,Tommy Russell,Jimmy Creaney & Mayor McCallum.
