6 BED RETORT HOUSE

The new 6 Bed retort House was built in the early 1920's capable of producing up to 30,000 cubic feet of coal gas per hour (maximum)

Gas works presentation 5/11/1962

Ronnie Herron ( Gas Fitter ) makes a presentation to Mayor H Mc Court on behalf of the Gasworks & Joanne ---- out of the office presents Mrs McCourt with a bouquet of flowers. Also in the photo is Mr Stanley MD of the firm. The photo was taken in the premises on 5/11/1962.
