Spent a lot of my childhood in 89 Bridge street where my grandparents lived .Grandad was James McClatchey a shoe maker they also had a shop in the front room of the the house.

Hello, I have spent the whole evening looking at your website, it is so lovely. I began to look for any family link and became engrossed.
My maternal grandmother was born in Edenderry, ELIZABETH SCOTT 14 JULY 1880, DAUGHTER OF FRANCIS AND SARAH NEE SMITH, SISTER OF CHARLOTTE. ELIZABETH MARRIED PARK RAMSEY IN 1907. My mother Sarah (Sadie) was 1 of their chldren. I noticed some of your lovely old photos, there was a Sally Ramsey in a methodist choir in 1955 and also a Mr G Ramsey in a bible class in 1919, I just wondered if there were any links? Or if anyone new anyrhing about the Scott family. My mothers brother Frank Ramsey, married and Agnes Lyttle, not certain of the spelling, but I also noticed the name Lyttle on your site. Can anyone help?

Yes I believe the story goes that after delivering the days coal it was normal for him to go and have some refreshment and it was left to the horse to bring them both back to the coal yard at the bottom of Foundry Street. I am still speaking to my family and you are right it has just come to light.

wow! thankyou for finding out for me. I heard the horse used to bring Ned home when he came out of the pub. Did you say that your nickname was to do with the horse?? Is that something that has just come to light recently?! Are you still speaking? lol. By the way that was my grandfather next door, my aunt remembers your parents, and i do remember my father mentioning raineys.

WE LIVED AT NUMBER 25 AND THE GENTLEMAN NEXT DOOR WAS CALLED JOE. HE HAD A BAD ARM WHICH I BELIEVE WAS AS A RESULT OF AN ACCIDENT WITH A HORSE IN HIS YOUTH. I AM SORRY WITH REGUARDS TO NEDS HORSE NAME BUT I WILL ENDEVOUR TO FIND OUT FOR YOU AND SAVE YOUR AUNTS SANITY.
