We believe that my husband's great grandfather Cornelius McCoy born in 1848 may have come from Edenderry. He arrived in New York in 1871. We can not find any information on where exactly he came from in Ireland. However, we have a record of his oldest son John JOseph McCoy and his wife Mary visiting Edenderry in 1899. We thought this might indicate that Cornelius came form Edenderry. Do you have any suggestions as to how we could confirm this. We would be most grateful for any help. I attended the "Festival of Remembrance" in Portadown town hall last night, I must say a big "Well done" to ECDA for all the work you put in organising this event.

It was great to see the hall filled to capacity and such a wide variety of talent on stage, followed by a very moving service of remembrance. Thank you to everyone involved, you did our town proud.

What a great site. I visited Edenderry last week and walked along Florence Court where my Grandfather Berte Hara Malcolmson lived before moving to England. I'm trying to follow my family tree so if anybody remembers him or his family please get in touch thank you. rachelamuk@yahoo.co.uk
